Real couples · Tuscany, Italy
Casey and Ben chose Tuscany for an elopement that felt like a slow, beautiful drive through the countryside. Their day started in a stone farmhouse among the cypress trees, moved through the hills in a vintage convertible, and ended with a sunset dinner on the lawn. This page follows it from the first photo to the last.
If you are dreaming of an elopement in Italy, Tuscany is hard to beat: rolling golden hills, white gravel roads and small stone chapels that look like they were placed there just for you. Our Tuscany elopement page shows how we plan days like this, and our Italy elopement guide has more places to consider.
Their story
The morning was unhurried. Casey and Ben got ready in a countryside farmhouse with tall windows, old wooden floors and a view of the cypress trees. Their embroidered vow books, the dress waiting in the doorway and the linen suit by the fireplace set the tone for a day full of small, personal details. They helped each other with cuffs, buttons and a little flower for the lapel. When they were ready, they met on a balcony above the hills and shared their first moment together.
Then came the drive. A vintage black convertible took them along white gravel roads through golden fields, past rows of cypress trees, with the bride's veil catching the wind. These photos show how much of Tuscany you can see in a single afternoon, and how the journey can be as special as the ceremony itself.
Their ceremony took place outside a small stone chapel on a quiet hillside. Casey and Ben stood close, read their vows and exchanged rings with the dark wooden door behind them. After a kiss, they raised a glass of champagne with the people who shared the moment. Under a dramatic sky, the wide photos of the chapel and its cypress trees standing alone above the valley became some of the most striking of the day.
As the light softened, they walked through tall golden grass, leaned on the vintage car and held each other under the veil. The evening ended on a lawn in front of a stone farmhouse, where a table for two was set under string lights, with a soft bouquet of cream and apricot roses. They cut a small cake with berries, opened a bottle of champagne at sunset and toasted as the light turned gold over the hills.
